Where the data comes from
OmniAsset uses official, public market data. Each source family below is assembled into one content-addressed snapshot with a single as-of date; the app shows you that date wherever the numbers appear.
Source families
- Mutual fund NAVs — the official daily net asset values published by the fund industry, used for valuation and returns.
- Indian equity & ETF prices — end-of-day prices from the official exchange records.
- US stock & ETF prices — end-of-day prices with corporate-action adjustment (splits and dividends) so returns stay correct across events.
- Fund facts — category, objective, expense ratio, AUM and manager tenure from the fund's standardised disclosures.
- Legal benchmarks — each fund's own stated benchmark, on a total-return basis, so a fund is only ever compared against its real yardstick.
- Holdings & overlap — month-end portfolio disclosures, used for fund overlap and concentration.
- FX & risk-free rate — reference exchange rates and the short-term government rate used in risk measures.
How often it refreshes
- Daily — NAVs, prices, FX and the risk-free rate.
- Monthly — fund facts, manager and benchmark records, and holdings (fund houses publish month-end portfolios roughly two weeks into the following month).
When a source is late or a single file fails, OmniAsset keeps the last verified values for exactly the affected items and preserves their original date — it never republishes stale data as if it were fresh, and never fills a gap with a guess.
One published snapshot
All of the above is combined into a single signed reference snapshot with one as-of date. Every Health check, Compare and research page reads that one snapshot, and the app shows the as-of date alongside the numbers so you always know how current they are. When a figure required for a result isn't in the current snapshot, that result is withheld rather than estimated.
